   CALL BEFORE YOU DIG

( 519) 822-1750 extension 2230

If you are planning to dig, auger or drive stakes (including fence post spikes) into the ground, it is essential that you call Guelph Hydro before you dig.  The information provided by Guelph Hydro's Locators can prevent not only costly repairs due to accidental cable dig-ins but it may also save your life. There are as many electrical hazards underground as there are above. In a way the hazards found underground are more dangerous because they are hidden from view and it is important never to assume with respect to location or depth of cable. Arranging to have underground utilities located before you dig is also the law; reference the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act Construction Projects section 228. This service is free so make safety a high priority by Calling Before You Dig. Please call at least two working days prior to digging to schedule this service.

During the busy spring season additional notice may be required.

Also do not forget to call all utilities...
  • city sewer and water
  • phone
  • cable
  • gas
