Call Before You Dig!

If you are planning to dig, drill, blast, auger or drive stakes (including fence post spikes) into the ground, it is essential that you call Ontario One Call before you dig to arrange a free underground cable locate. The information provided can prevent not only costly repairs due to accidental cable dig-ins but it may also save your life. There are as many electrical hazards underground as there are above. In a way the hazards found underground are more dangerous because they are hidden from view and it is important never to assume with respect to location or depth of cable. Arranging to have underground utilities located before you dig is also the law; reference the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act Construction Projects section 228. Make safety a high priority by Calling Before You Dig. Please call at least five working days prior to digging to schedule this service.

During the busy spring season additional notice may be required.

In addition please remember to call all utilities including ~

  • Municipal sewer, water and traffic
  • cable TV
  • phone
  • gas
