Planned Maintenance Outage Request

Please note: This form is for use by commercial and business customers only. Residential customers who would like to arrange a disconnection or service upgrade should contact Technical Services by email at technicalservices@guelphhydro.com.

Customers and contractors occasionally require a temporary disconnection from their Guelph Hydro services to allow them to safely perform station maintenance on electrical items such as customer-owned transformers and high-voltage primary switchgear.

Guelph Hydro policy is such that we will only allow Guelph Hydro staff to break an electrical connection from our network.  To request a temporary interruption to the electrical service, please complete the online form below.  A member of our team will contact you regarding your request.

Terms & Conditions

By submitting this online service request, the customer/contractor agrees to the following:

  • Guelph Hydro Electric Systems Inc. (GHESI) personnel will not operate customer owned equipment
  • Customer/Contractor must be Work Protection Code (UWPC) certified and have proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Cancellation / Reschedule - If the work is cancelled or rescheduled less than two business days in advance, GHESI charges shall apply
  • For all work scheduled after regular business hours, GHESI overtime charges will apply and a purchase order is required prior to crew scheduling
  • For all planned interruptions, Electrical Safety Authority connection authorization is required prior to service reconnection
