Art Stokman - President

Art Stokman was named President of Guelph Hydro Electric Systems Inc., and Ecotricity Guelph Inc. in February 2006. Art is a 14 year veteran of Guelph Hydro with 34 years of overall industry experience. Before being named President Art was Vice-President, Engineering and Operations. Prior to joining Guelph Hydro Art was Chief Engineer at Nepean Hydro, Manager of Engineering at London Hydro and a Project Engineer for a private construction firm. He has been an active member of several industry associations and advocacy groups including the Municipal Electric Association, the Electrical Distributors Association, the Utility Advisory Council and the IESO Metering Subcommittee.

Ian Miles - Vice President Business Development and Chief Financial Officer

Ian began his professional career in the telecommunications industry in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. In 2001 he joined Toronto Hydro Energy Services Inc. as Vice President, Finance and one year later was appointed President of Toronto Hydro Telecom Inc. In 2005 Ian founded Blue Current Inc., a Toronto-based management and energy services consulting company, ultimately working with Guelph Hydro Inc. to coordinate the divestiture of our Selectpower business assets last year. Ian was awarded an Honours BSc by Acadia University in 1982 and an MBA by Dalhousie University in 1985.


Nicole Mailloux - Vice-President, Human Resources

Nicole Mailloux has been with Guelph Hydro Electric Systems Inc. since 1999 as the Vice-President of Human Resources. She spearheaded Guelph Hydro’s Conservation and Demand Management Programs for the first one and a half years starting in 2005. Over the past 25 years, she has held various Human Resources positions with Ontario Hydro and has provided Human Resources and Labour Relations assistance to various Electrical Utilities across Ontario. Her first career was with Ontario Hydro’s Research Division, in the field of environmental and biological research. She served on the Board of Guelph Partnership for Innovation (GPI) in 2005/06, was Chair of the Wellington County Public Sector Consortium Human Resources Group for several years and co-chairs a Utility Human Resources Networking Group. She is an active volunteer mentor with the Human Resources Professional Association. She maintains her certification as a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) current, and has an Honours B.Sc. from the University of Guelph.

Dan Amyot - Manager, Information Systems

Dan Amyot is currently responsible for Information Systems at Guelph Hydro Electric Systems Inc. A graduate of North Bay’s Canadore College, Dan started and ran his own computer sales company for a number of years. He began his professional utility industry career with Sudbury Hydro in 1990, and was hired by Guelph Hydro in 1993. Dan was promoted to GIS Supervisor in 1998, and has since then led the development of Guelph Hydro’s Geographical Information System (GIS). In this role, Dan has positioned Guelph Hydro to attain ESRI Canada’s Innovation Award in the field of GIS. In 2009 Dan accepted the larger challenges of Manager of Information Systems. Current projects include the further development of Guelph Hydro’s "Sungard Public Sector" (also known as "HTE") software with integration to Asset Management, Smart Metering and GIS as an enterprise solution.

Arlen Molyneaux - Director, Engineering

Arlen Molyneaux has more than 33 years experience in electrical utility engineering at Guelph Hydro Electric Systems Inc. A graduate of the University of Waterloo, he has been a licensed professional engineer in Ontario since 1977. Arlen has been involved with load forecasting, system planning, distribution system design, economic evaluations, servicing and easement agreements and many other utility functions. He has served on many provincial and local committees in the electrical utility engineering field.

Matt Weninger - Director, Communications and Metering

Matt Weninger joined Guelph Hydro Electric Systems Inc. in 1988, following graduation from the University of Waterloo as an Electrical Engineer. He has 19 years experience with Guelph Hydro, initially filling roles of Project Engineer and Standards Engineer. A licensed Professional Engineer since 1990, Matt currently directs the activities of our utility's Metering, Electrical Maintenance, Communications and GIS departments, including Smart Metering deployment. In 2006 Matt was given responsibility for delivering Guelph Hydro’s Conservation and Demand Management Programs.

Kazi Marouf - Director, Operations.

Kazi Marouf is a registered Professional Engineer and has about 29 years of electrical utility experience prior to joining Guelph Hydro in September 2008, including FortisOntario, Cornwall Electric and Ottawa Hydro. His experience portfolio spans engineering design, utility operations, system planning, construction and operation of a 5MW combined heat and power plant, transformer station and substation design and design & operation of a fibre-optic based municipal area broadband network. Kazi has been involved in numerous charitable organizations in the communities he has lived in, including United Way and YMCA Board of Directors. He believes in mentorship and training and served as a part-time lecturer at Community College and trade schools. kmarouf@guelphhydro.com
