Our Commitment to Accessibility

Alectra is committed to treating all individuals in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence.  Alectra believes in the principles of integration and equal opportunity and is committed to creating a barrier-free environment by identifying, removing and preventing barriers that may limit persons with disabilities.

Accessibility Documents 

Our Multi-Year Accessibility Plan outlines the policies/procedures, achievements and actions that Alectra has previously put in place or will put in place to improve opportunities for people with disabilities as outlined in the Integrated Accessibility Standard Regulations (IASR) including: Customer Service, Information and Communications, Employment and the Design of Public Spaces. The Alectra Utilities 2017 Accessibility Compliance Report was filed with the Government of Ontario on December 20, 2017. 

Alectra has created  an AODA policy and procedures to meet our obligations as outlined in the Integrated Accessibility Standard Regulations under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005.  These documents are available in multiple formats upon request.

  • Wheelchair available
  • Wheelchair accessible washrooms for visitors and employees
  • Lowered counters in our front Reception area
  • Elevator to second floor
  • Sidewalk curb for wheelchair and walker access

Should there be a planned or temporary disruption of accessibility features identified as required for your visit to our facilities, the representative you are meeting with will provide advance, reasonable notice by making every reasonable effort to contact you. Alternate arrangements suitable to both parties will be made
